Which is better??
I have a difficult time finding the time to go running outside and when i do run outdoors, i feel muscle burn, but
dont sweat as much.
Where as the treadmill, i sweat more but dont feel much muscle burn.
What am i doing wrong can someone give me advice.
What should i do of either treadmill or running to loose quicker pounds.
THANKS

I've heard that you should run with a very slight incline to help simulate running outside. I think even 1% is enough.0

I don't think either really plays a part in how much you lose... just how much you work while running inside or out. I personally love running outside... because I can stay cool and not sweat as much, but I still feel my heart pounding from the cardio workout! It's great! Also the scenary is relaxing... and makes time go by faster for me. Also I can set better goals running outside
(I.e. Ok I'll run to that tower half a mile away... then once I get there I say... ok I can make it a little farther... I'll get to the flags over another quarter mile away).
It all comes down to personal liking I never do good on treadmills cause I get bored and more tired I think... so I choose outside. Just work hard and do what you feel is best!0 -
If you're running for the joy of it, it doesn't matter. If you're running to train for a road race, train on asphalt. If you're running just b/c you think spinning continually on a hamster wheel will help your waist line, do it on a treadmill.
I do all of the above0 -
Normally when you run outside, you have the wind to dry your sweat. Not so much inside. I live in a climate where I have to train a lot inside so I utilize my treadmill more than I would like. I always run on a slight incline (.5-1%) and also include some "uphill" sprints where I turn up the speed and incline for a certain amount of time or distance and go back to easy running to catch my breath. The nice thing about running outside is the topography. It's generally harder to run outside because of the hills and such, but you can burn just as many calories inside.0

Unless you're training for an event, I really don't think it matters.
When I am planning on running a race and haven't run in a long time, I start on the treadmill, because I can regulate my speed and know I am building up my endurance (time), speed, and distance. But once I hit my target speed and can maintain it for a couple of miles, I switch to running on a track or outdoors. That way, I have a few months to get used to that kind of running before the "real thing"
But if you're just running for fitness, a treadmill could help you push yourself a bit more (you've been going at 5.5 mph for a long time, it's time to bump it up to 5.8 or 6) and can give you a calorie estimate, which the road doesn't do. So benefits either way.0 -
with the environment not being clean of pollution you should go with treadmill, unless you live where there is no cars/smoke and only fresh air.

Either way is fine. I prefer to run outdoors rather than on the treadmill. I only use the treadmill if it is the last resort but as another reader mentioned increase the incline to simulate the outdoors.0
