Hello All! My story :)

Hi everyone. I am actually a fairly new user on here even though I actually signed up over a year ago and just never really used my account. May 1, 2011 was my 27th birthday though and I realized how close I am getting to 30 and everyone I know has said that if you want to get into shape do it before you turn 30 because it only gets harder, so here I am now. Also in the past year I have gotten so much heavier that I ever thought I could before. I got up to my highest weight ever of 225 (I am 5'7"), but over the past couple of months I have gotten down to my starting weight on on MFP of 213 just by becoming a bit more active. I have been faithfully logging my food diary for just over a week (started on 5-4-11) and have already lost 6 pounds! I am very excited about this great start and I am very hopeful that I will meet my goal for the month of May, which was to loose 15 pounds this month. I will keep going after this but I am setting short term goals because I do have a long term goal but I am not setting a specific date for that, just as long as the numbers continue to go down that's all that really matters :) and that hopefully by my next birthday there will have been some pretty dramatic progress! I am looking to meet new people on here and to hopefully help those that are willing to help me keep on track! I can't wait to get to know you all better!

    welcome and congrats on your great start. This is a great site, lots of motivation , encouragement and info. You can do it, just keep at it

    I have the same philosophy as far as the end goal :) As long as the weight on the scale continues to go down, I will be THRILLED when I finally reach that goal :)
  • Welcome and congrats on setting your goals. I've decided that mini-goals really help. Go figure that why experts suggest them! I'm new as well and love the welcoming atmosphere and support I've already felt. Feel free to add me-we can support each other. Good luck!

    Hi and welcome! Great job on the weight lose so far and good luck with the rest of it!
    You've only just turned 27 - don't be fretting about turning '30' - think how I feel, I've only 5 months to go:sad:

    Been at this almost 2 weeks and have lost 7 lbs. Congrats on your great start. If you need support or just wanna brag about your little victories, chat me up.
