THIS ONE IS PRICELESS
Some people understand life better, and they call some of these people "retarded"...
At the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally challenged, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash.
At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back... every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, "This will make it better." Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line.
Everyone in the stadium stood. The cheering went on for several minutes. People who were there are still telling the story. Why?Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.
If you pass this on, we may be able to change our hearts as well as someone else's. "A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle." Friends Make The World Go Round.

It is those of us who have full comprehension of what the world thinks we should be that are truly handicapped. For we too often see through the eyes of the world, not by the eyes of faith.0

there is a commercial on tv right now that is the exact replica of that story, it makes my "eyes water" when i see it. I'd like to think deep down we'd all do something like that! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0

That is so sweet!
I'll tell you a story about my senior class.
We had this boy in class that was "special" He had some birth defects including brain tumors (I think). Well, it was graduation night and it was his turn to go up to receive his diploma. As he went up to the mic to wait for his name to be announced we all stood up and clapped and cheered for him. I know he enjoyed every minute of it. It just takes those little things to make someones day!

In a world thats all about ME, it's so refreshing to hear a story thats about us. So who really is handicapped? Not the nine people above, that's for sure.0
