How many pounds a week do you try to lose?

I saw on MFP that as you get closer to your goal weight you should gradually drop your weekly weight loss goal. I wanted 2 lbs a week but only have 15 lbs to lose and wasn't losing. So I changed my weekly goal to 1 lb and it upped my calories to 1500 daily without exercise. Still not losing. I've been at 160 for the whole month even though I've stayed under my calories on a net weekly basis. Just curious what has worked for some of you because I'm discouraged
