Like so many people these days, I am on a budget which means I have to purchase alot of ground beef. Does anyone have any healthy ground beef dishes that I could make? My family will not eat ground turkey or chicken, so I can't substitute those in a traditional ground beef dish. Thanks!

    taco salads?

I mix in a little reduced sodium taco seasoning, some salsa, lettuce and some cheese.

This is one of my favorites! Leave off the chips/shell. Pile up as much lettuce as you want. Throw on some salsa, bell peppers, and/or tomatoes. Top it off with some low fat cheese. If you're like me and enjoy sour cream, put a few spoonfuls of plain greek yogurt on top of it all.

And of course, draining and rinsing your ground beef once it's browned really cuts down on the fat and calories.

I always rinse my hamburger meat under hot water after I cook it, draining the fat and such off of it. Even if it's the lean kind. Just a habit I have been in for a while. You can make spaghetti with heart healthy or reduced sodium sauce. You can also make stuffed bell peppers with brown rice instead of white rice. Also you can do a "beef stew" with hamburger meat. You can add beef stew seasoning and add veggies into the mixture and make a casserole. Hope these help :)

Try using half ground beef and half ground turkey. It's usually not noticable then. If you are using ground beef to cook until crumbled (spaghetti, taco salad, etc...) my doctor said to rinse it with hot water while stirring it up to get rid of excess fat left on after cooking. Tacos are a main stay so I have a taco salad to avoid the taco shells and skip or go minimal on the cheese and use low fat sour cream.

You can also make spaghetti and use a spaghetti squash instead of pasta.
