I just joined this site in August and I love it all ready. I know this question has probably been asked a million times but I want to make sure I do this right. My BMR says I should eat 1566 calories per day. If I do an hour worth of exercise am I supposed to eat 1566 plus the 400 calories for a total of 1966 that day? Thanks for your help! My daughter and I are going to Europe next year and I want to make sure I look good when we get there!:bigsmile:

No--you eat what MFP suggests you eat based upon your daily activity PLUS your exercise calories.
Ok--your BMR is what it would take to maintain your current weight if you were in a coma. Now, assuming you're not in a coma, then you have to eat more than that, right, to keep doing things like sitting up, walking, etc. That is why MFP gives you another figure that is based upon your daily activities that you are supposed to eat to give you a deficit to lose weight. Then you eat your exercise calories on top of that or your deficit would be too great.
