Thanks!!

keep the soft tape measurer **parallel to the floor at all times.**

WAIST: *Narowest* point of your midsection
    HIPS: widest point
    NECK: widest point
    THIGHS: thickest part
BUST: fullest part of your bosom, generally across nipples, around back.
    BAND: directly underneath your breasts

    Expanding on what lazywriter said...

    Chest: breathe out all air
Hips: widest part, where the butt protrudes the greatest
Waist: take two measurements: narrowest part and at the navel

When calculating your waist-to-hip ratio use the narrowest waist measurement. Narrow waist divided by hips. If your ratio is greater than 0.8, you're considered apple-shaped. (i.e. letal belly fat)

Waistline (narrowest) cutoff for prediabetes is 35".

That said, the "widest" part of my hips is above my rear, so that's why I use that measurement. Everyone has a different shape.

I've been wondering the same thing -- How tight do we measure? How do we know it's consistent from one measurement to the next? I have so much fluff, it's hard to make sure my measuring technique remains constant... Any hints for me?

These are questions I have also. I find myself wondering if I just pulled the tape tighter this time or if I really lost that half inch.
