I'm female, 33yo, 5'7" tall.
I had an operation on my leg after a sports injury last year. Then I quit smoking. Then I had mega-depression, which I've finally gotten under control. In all of that mire, I understandably gained quite a bit of weight.
My only weight data I had to work on was taken some four or five months ago by the doctor: 87.5 kgs (192.5 lbs). So I was making rough estimates around that.
After a week of going really well, eating the right foods, eating workout calories, working out 50mins a day, I bought myself some scales today so I could start taking some accurate measurements.
I don't know what the f--- I've been doing for the last few months, but it read 97.2 kgs!!!!
That's 213.8lbs.
I have never been that heavy before, in my life. How did that happen??

Sorry guys. I just had to vent. I only found this out within the last half hour. Bear with me.

I can understand your frustration. But don't let it get to you. You are definitely going in the right direction. Scales can definitely be our enemy. It's good to have one so you can monitor your progress or so you can see where you are starting from. But now that you know, I suggest not worrying about the scale at least for another week if not more. Continue your healthy habits, exercising, food choices, getting plenty of rest. Your body has been through a lot in the past year mentally and physically, and it's not going to give up what it has without a fight. But you're stronger than those puny fat cells and are going to conquer them with muscle and positive attitude. You are already doing it!!! Great job on the exercising and eating healthy, Keep it up!!! You'll start noticing more positive changes in no time.0

Differences between scales may also have caused this! Don't despair, you can do it for sure. :flowerforyou:0

1st of all, the scales at the dr office are not always calibrated.
you must weigh yourself on the same scale....at the same time of day.
My weight fluctuates 3-5 pounds if i weigh in the morning and then in the evening. Has your 'friend' come to visit lately-water retention is a big issue with us woman.
so start from HERE. My trick was to have my 1st weigh in at night. 6 pm-1st and ONLY time.
Then at day break ( after potty time ) the next week, weigh your self and log the data. Promise it will be good.
You are doing a good thing for your body. Healthy food and exercise are not just about the body size, it it about your heart, liver, brain...etc.
Good luck to you and let me know how you come along.0 -
I feel your pain. I started on this site @ 186 then went down to 184. Went on vacation for 5 days and came back and weighed - a whopping 192.6. I felt like I went into major depression when i got off the scale. I decided I was not coming back to the site for a while because I am so embarrassed, angry and frustrated :explode:   :explode: :explode: :explode:0

Thanks for your understanding, people. I'm feeling a bit better about things now.
