if you could live in any time...

When would it be? My boss and I were talking this morning about how in the 50's, 60's, 70's, having curves was truly sexy. Pin ups, Marilyn Monroe, etc.

Now, being ultra thin is supposed to be sexy and seemingly what everyone is striving for... but not me.

I love my hour-glass figure (that is finally returning), and my honey LOVES my curves as well.

What time period would you live in?

I would love to be in the mid 60's....I really think I went to Woodstock in a previous life!
My other Fave time would be in the 20's or 30's, mobsters and flapper dresses.....How beautiful the people were then:

DEFINITELY late 60's early 70's. The culture and music was unmatched. Also LA in the 80's, cause I got a special place in my heart for Metal.

In about 500 years time most probably. I like technology.

Costume-wise, 16th century, but I couldn't have coped with the smell, the lack of humanity (very much against the death penalty), or the religion.

    Plus I don't think I could ever have a 20 inch waist.

I love the fashion of the 40's (Kiera Knightly in Atonement for example) but WW2 would have scared me too much. The 60's would have been cool because that's when lots of my favorite muscians were at their peak and it didn't cost you an arm and a leg to go to a concert. And the late 70's disco era would have been fun too, cool clothes and lots of partying.

But I'm a history freak so I wouldn't mind being able to go back to the Tudor era and skip all the way to the Revolutionary war and on up from there...

I would have liked to have helped women gain the right to vote! I guess that would make me a Suffragette.

I would say the late 1800's (Wild West era). I would love to just walk around with a sweet *kitten* gun belt and camp out every night under the stars.

    Now.

At times in the past, I'd be considered blind because my nearsightedness is so bad. Or I'd be in an asylum because there wasn't xanax or antidepressants. Or burned at the stake for being a heretic. I'd have been an old maid because I didn't get married until I was 29, or have been forced to marry someone I didn't love. I'd have a passel of children because there wasn't effective birth control, and a woman wouldn't have been able to say, "Hey, I don't want kids."

oh gosh, where do i begin?! i would have loved to have lived during the wild west!! The hardwork back then totally paid off and everything was justified with a gun! i'm also in love with the 60's/70's. Everything seem to have been in abundance and if it wasn't, nobody cared! Everything was rolling with the punches... oooh and the 40's--women seemed to be really beautiful, not just on the outside. part of me really enjoys the thought of male and female roles in the home--but don't get me wrong, i love having the power as a woman in todays era!! :) if only we could time travel...ho hum... :D

I'm with BamBam. I think I was born a century too late. Life seemed to be so much simpler then, just carve out an honest living with hard work and not mess with so much of the hustle & bustle of today, not to mention all the crap in our society today.

Edwardian (1910's) for the clothing. Renaissance (16th-17th centuries) for the art.

    1980's for the fun.
  • first choice would be wild old west baby!
but since i'm a history freak and a poster child for the hourglass shape really any time period would please me except for the mid to late 30's. NO THANKS.

the 20s were SO MODERN and free that i dont care that the clothes wouldnt have shown me off

and in any other time period people would be drooling over my curves. (not to sound cocky or anything) just place me anytime and give me some money and you'll see a happy happy girl.

I think I would like to live in the 1800's, like when Little House on the Prarie or Anne of Green Gables... things were so much simplier then. Not crazy for the huge dresses, but I like the time.

I'd say the 1920's except that I'd live every day knowing what was coming just around the corner. The Jazz Age was a great time for experimentation in the arts and sciences, though in truth, most ordinary people in those days lived their lives then in "quiet desperation."

In truth, right now is the very best time to be alive.
