It's been two months. my BMR is about 1450 I eat 1200 calories a day, ride my horse almost everyday, plus work 3 times a week plus I exercise almost every stinking tay! (Tae bo) so what the heck? Any tips? motivational help? At this point I'm debating on whether my body is physically capable of losing weight. :/

You are 16 years old and to lose weight you must be eating waaaaaaaaayyyyyy more than 1200 calories b/c you are still growing.

I thought the BMI and ideal weight calculators on here were for adults only. I think you should check with your doctor to find what your ideal weight should be, since you're still young and growing.

I'm 26 and started this at the beginning of the year. It has literally taken me MONTHS and I just hit a point where I had lost 4 lbs. yesterday. When reading your profile I noticed your reasons for losing weight are to be a better rider and live a healthy life. Well for me those are also in my goals. So when I get discouraged I tell myself to ignore the scale, and to just 'keep on doing what I'm doing.' I remind myself how I'm doing this for the long haul, for a healthy lifestyle!~ not for the scale. For me, that kind of helps me through the months of 'feeling like there is no progress.'

Also, taking measurements helps too! Noticing that inch, or even half inch lost in your stomach, or thighs (where-ever)...can sometimes be a rewarding feeling.

You don't have very much to loose. 4 lbs in 2 months is great. Make sure you are eating clean, quality calories and keep up the good work. You'll get there.... it just takes time. Better to do it slow and steady and be successful.

Just like Dressage took hours upon hours of training and discipline, training your body for optimum health and fitness will be no different. Apply the principles you know from your riding to your weight loss and you'll get there!
