Hi everyone, my name is Rose and I am new here. I actually stumbled upon My Fitness Pal when I was searching for apps for my phone and found that MFP seemed to have the best app out there for tracking my calories and workouts. I love the fact that I can scan barcodes and add food that way to my log. Makes it super easy! Plus I love that MFP gives me a projection of where my weight could be if every day were like today. Really encouraging!
I have been losing/gaining weight for the last 14 years when I got pregnant with my first child. I bounced back from his birth ok, but, never really paid much attention to my weight. After I got pregnant with my second child 6 years later I realized I needed to do something about my weight and started really counting every calorie that went in my mouth and working out like crazy. I white knuckled my way through 50 pounds when I got the best surprise of my life - baby number 3! Which, caused me to gain a ton of weight back. Trying to figure out how to juggle mom of three, a roller coaster marriage and overly stressful jobs has been challenging and I managed to gain about 30 pounds of my loss back. Just when I decided to get serious about my weight loss my father in law died suddenly, I snapped one of my toes in half and my younger sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. So, needless to say, I haven't really focused much on myself for the last couple of years. Thankfully, my sister has made it through all her treatments, numerous failed reconstruction surgeries and set backs and seems to finally be coming through the other side of all this. My job has changed to something much less stressful and I think I am finally in a position where I can get back to focusing on me.
I am hoping to find added support here on the site to help me reach my goal of losing 50 pounds this year. I am looking forward to finding myself again and finally showing who I am to the world again instead of feeling like I need to hide.

Hi Rose, I am glad you joined. I just joined yesturday and need to loose about 50 pounds myself. This seems like a good place to find motivation with all of the great people on this site.0
