If you are running, my advice is to go to a running store to find out what kind of shoes you need for the way that your foot moves when you run (stability, motion control, neutral, etc.- depending on if you pronate or overpronate or neither). Then when they tell you either tell them your budget and buy what you can afford or leave and order a pair that match that criteria online from roadrunnerssports.com or holabird.com (maybe holabirdsports), or runnerswarehouse. They will be cheaper online- especially if you can find last year's/season's pair in the same line.

I wear New Balanaces and pay about 60 for them online. They have always lasted me as long as they should for a runner- 300-500 miles. I switch on the low end of that due to having once gotten a stress fracture.

    HTH.

You need to get fitted. Everyone's feet are different and if you get the wrong pair you could end up with some major injuries. Go to a running store, after they fit you, you can look for the shoes on-line or in other stores.

I use Brooks - LOVE THEM!!! But you need to get fitted to get the correct shoe. Even in the Brooks running line, there are a dozen different styles for everyone's foot and there's only one style that I can wear. Definitely get fitted.
