Going to the movies! Help!

Tonight I'm going out for dinner and a movie. I'm getting Mexican for dinner so I assume I can have a salad with some salsa, etc. The issue is the movie! What do you snack on at a movie that is still satisfying and enjoyable?

I never snack at movies. Too expensive.0

I take my own... carrot sticks and humous!! YUM0

I bring my own popcorn and water. Good Luck!0

The only good thing you could find at a movie theater to snack on would be popcorn, but only if it was air popped which I doubt it is.
Maybe a small pack of nuts if they have any? Otherwise just your own bag in and get a water to sip on.0 -
Does your cinema have those 99 cal fruit smoothie ice creams? I get those if I need something. Otherwise just a large bottle of water.0

Not sure what you are allowed but what about a small popcorn - no butter. This way there are no refills and once it is gone its gone. Also the gummy candy is usually not to bad or plain chocolate (smaller version from drug store). Are there any hard candies you like? Sometimes those aren't too bad and you can suck on them and take your time enjoying them. Good Luck!!0

I put a Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness in my purse and sip on it throughout the movie... filling, tasty, and healthy!!0

I usually take a pack of gum- but I'm a gum junky. Or I get some gobstoppers and make sure someone else holds them and I only get one every once in a while.0

I eat nothing at the movies0

Mexican resaurant salads are usually full of oils and thick creams etc....it may actually be better to have a fajita or burrito or tacos!
Kind of like Pizza Express (UK) the salads have about 200 more calories than the pizzas!! Worth looking online to see what you can have
And movies - get some microwave popcorn and take it with out - it's cheaper, fresher and less calories - BONUS!0 -
Enjoy yourself:) If you like popcorn, have a small. If you like candies, get them—but share:)
It's all about moderation.0 -
Get a pretzel with mustard unsalted or hot dog. Stay away from butter if you must have popcorn. And share the small size or better yet get the kids size. No candy or soda though ( My weakness has always been candy. Enjoy the show! Also eatthis.com has great references on what to order when eating out.0

or, just don't snack at all! People usually finish their snack during the first 15 - 30 minutes anyway - so for most of the movie people aren't eating anyway. It might feel odd at first, but if you have just come from dinner, you shouldn't be hungry anyway. Good luck!0

Bucket of diet coke, and you're good to go.
If you must, they usually sell little ice cream bars that aren't much more than 100 calories.0 -

What so they pop popcorn with then? I never knew this.
If I go to the cinema I feel ok having a small popcorn and a diet pepsi/coke. I indulge but as long as I don't over indulge then I'm happy.
I'd be more worried about the mexican meal!0 -
sneak in your own butter free popcorn. nothing behind the counter is healthy.0

Bring a water for a drink and bring your own snack. It you put it in your purse, they don't find it at all :-). I've been doing that for years!0

I say get a small popocorn and don't add any butter. That should be under 300 calories. Then get a bottle of water and you're good to go. It'll take some time to eat and will be a satisfying movie treat!0

Fill up on a healthy choice at the dinner place; Stay away from the chips!!! Be careful all day today. Check in on your cals. before the movies to see where you stand. Either bring the healthy pop kind in your purse or, if you have enough calories left, get a SMALL popcorn. Go in a bit later to miss all the ads so you don't eat it all before the movie starts and feel compelled to get up and get more! Don't waste empty cals. on a drink. Drink iced water with a tad bit of lemon. Have fun!0

If you want a sweet thing than get a pack of jelly bellys. If you want something like choclate then get choclate rice cakes. You can get them at publix.0

I sneak in a box of Cracker Jack - only 120 calories. I worked at a theater in high school - theater popcorn is fairly high fat even without adding butter flavored topping. Best to get the smallest size if you do go that route.0

I loooove Mexican food and i just got off the HCG diet. I went 40 days with no Mexican food but tortilla soup one day. Try the chicken tortilla soup or the fajitas because it's grilled. Do the chicken or the shrimp. Less Calories. Also, on the HCG popcorn is not allowed and I did go to the movies and split a Big Bucket with my friend. I still lost my pound the next day. But to be careful get the kids meal with the candy, drink and popcorn. that way you want over indulge. I bring my own water and I would give the drink and candy away. Also, drink plenty of water with lemon or lime it will help cut fat. But the most important thing is to enjoy yourself and not stress over the food. Think of your options ahead time. You will do great.0

I usually make sure to eat before I go....and I bring in my own snacks. I enjoy munching on some chocolate during a movie so I just fit it in most times....although I buy my candy for a buck at the local grocery store...I never buy anything there unless I'm dying of thirst! I also have been known to bring in some 100 cal packs of almonds (a kind that are sweet if you can find them aka cocoa, butter toffee, etc). And if I'm craving popcorn, I pop my own0

Maybe a chicken enchilada (ala carte) and then pop yourself a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and bring it with you0
