Hi all,
I started C25K Monday, do today is W1D3. I started 30 day shred yesterday. I am so sore! Good sore, but not sure if I should push through?
I have committed, mentally to suck it up this month and go hard with C25K and shred, but I didn't think I'd be so sore!
Any thoughts?

I tried that while I was on Week 4 of C25K with the 30DS. It was too much for me and one had to go. I picked C25K and I'm happy I did. Up to 3.5 miles. 30DS was too much combined with C25K when I was trying to build up endurance. I'm planning on picking 30DS back up now that I can run for 30 minutes without dying, but I don't think I have time with work/life to do it every day for 30 days straight.0

One rule - listen to your body - if you think you are going to injure yourself or if you become exhausted (outside of your workout) then take it down a notch. Also, make sure you eat enough protein and carbs because otherwise you will feel like (insert expletive)0

I don't think you should have started two new workout routines together. I would say push through one of them, and continue it for the next couple of weeks, while putting the other on the back burner until you have a good feel for what you can handle. When you feel your body is ready for both add the other one back to your routine.0

The shred causes an enormous amount of "good" pain in the beginning. Definitely push through (but do the exercises correctly), it is so worth it! I just went over my measurement reports over the last year and I lost 7 inches in my waist and 6 inches in my hips with the Shred accounting for most, if not all, of the loss! Not sure about the C25K program, but I definitely did more running and work on my elliptical when I was doing the Shred...very energizing
Good Luck!0 -
this last week (and this week) was week 9 of c25k...when I started it, I had to let my weight training slide a bit...picked it back up about 2 or 3 weeks ago...I had to mentally focus on the c25k
agree...listen to your body...but a little soreness is not necessarily a reason to give up...depends how bad...maybe skip a day of 30D shred to let you body recuperate...or some kind of alternating schedule
good luck...LOVE c25k program!!!!0 -
Thank you...I'm in pretty decent shape, or so I thought! It's just muscle soreness from the weights and lunges. I'm going to try to push through C2K, but will definitely stop if I need to. I'll let you all know!0

not sure what C25K consists of, but I run and do 30 day shred too... I would stay push though, you will get used to the soreness, remember its a good soreness.... unless its a visit to the doctors needed!0

I made it through the C25K. It's only week 1 so, the intervals aren't too bad and I'm jogging, not sprinting. I'm going to do the 30D shred this afternoon and do the best I can! I feel amazing having make it through the workout this morning!
I know it's a lot to take on all at once but I feel I really need to kick my body into gear.
Thank you!0 -
