Calorie Intake, Plateaus, Strategy, & Taking My Time

Hey all,

So I just wanted to talk to you all about this sort of weird strategy I've laid out for myself.

When I first decided to change my lifestyle, loose weight, and improve my overall health I discovered post upon post about the trials of hitting a plateau.

Now when I started this journey I made the commitment that I would not just go on a diet but make a lifestyle change, so I figured that I would not crash and start planning responsibly.

Things went well, and got even better when I started using MFP. When setting up the program I decided that I would start my journey at losing 1/2 pound per week, until I hit a plateau and then ramp up to the pound a week program.

I've also heard that if you hit a plateau increasing your lean protein or calorie consumption can get you out of it.

So here's the idea. Start at half a pound a week till i plateau, then switch to a pound a week. THEN when I hit that second plateau go back to the half a pound a week program ETC till I get to my goal weight.

I figure that since I'm not in a rush and am willing to do this slowly that this might work.

Of course all of this is coupled with exercise.

What do you all think?

I thought you're supposed to start with a higher deficit and then up cals if you plateau...the less weight you have to lose the smaller your deficit should be
