If I am trying to lose 2 pounds a week and end up meeting my goal or go over a bit but, then burn those calories with cardio that I have done for 45 mins, does that mean I have to eat to get back at my calorie intake I have as a goal?

Yep sure does! Basically when you exercise and burn calories- you get to eat that many for free

Try to eat back as many of your exercise calories as possible.

Think of it as putting gas in the car to feed the engine (your metabolism)

If you don't put the gas in, the metabolism stalls.

Deprive the engine of too much gas and it stops working.

Yes, your NET calorie intake should be 1200, 1300....whatever you set it at. For example: if your calories are set at 1200 and you burn 300 that is a net of 900. Therefore, you need to eat back 300 calories to make your net 1200. Some people say not to eat back exercise calories, but my doctor and dietician told me to. You won't lose much if you are netting below 1200 calories. It slows your metabolism down. When I was netting below 1200 my weight loss stopped for 3 weeks, until I started netting between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. Once I increased my intake my weight loss picked right back up.
