Since I had posted my recent weight loss (yea) and did the Check In thing, my weight Loss Ticker moved just fine... but the Daily Calories Consumes goals didn't? I didn't think about it until today, when I redid my BMR, and it shows a new lower (gulp) goal, but that doesn't show up on my Home Page, nor on my Food
Diary Page? Any ideas or suggestion are welcomed. Mucho Thanxo peeps!

BTW, the BMR is not a "goal"--people seem to be getting hung on on the BMR. Remember--the BMR is what it would take to maintain your present weight if you were basically in a coma, ok. YOu can't use BMR to set your caloric intake because obviously anyone posting on here is not in a coma.

You have to look at what it takes to maintain your present weight given your activity level--which is your BMR times different numbers based upon your activity level.

MPF does all that for you!! That number is on your "goals" page-

so again--don't gauge caloric intake by your BMR!

Okaaaaay... but, in the beginning, my BMR said that I needed 2040 calories, (which shows up on my Home Page), and now it says I need 2007. So does the Daily Calories Consumed Goal actually change as you lose weight, and report in?

...and hey, how about all those stewpid duplicate threads I managed to create? :noway: Believe it or not, I really am a certified Geek! Sheesh... I even have a diploma in Computer Information Sciences no less *giggle* 'course my specialty was in Failure Analysis

not sure if you got this answered but yes it will change, when you are looking at my home section - go to settings and then to update diet/fitness profile, when you go through that it should adjust your calories for your new weight. hope that helps- pretty sure thats what you need to do and what you were asking, if not, i'm tired and i'll blame it on that:happy:

What shows up on your home page is not your BMR--that is what you need for your caloric intake for the day to keep functioning. That is arrived at by taking your BMR and multiplying that by another number--which is based upon your activity level.

Make sense? To see the difference, go to "Tool", "find your BMR" and look at that--you'll see what your BMR is versus the other number you see.

And, yes, the changes will come as you lose weight! Sorry--as you lose, you get less calories! HOWEVER, MFP will NEVER EVER NEVER EVER take you below 1200, as no one should eat below 1200 unless your doctor is monitoring you closely and keeping things in check.
