Need help with protein!

First of all, I have purchased some casein protein and was wondering if it's ok to drink it during the day to keep my hunger satisfied. (Not as a meal replacement). I always hear people say drink it at night so you will not go in to famine while you sleep,but I am on medication that requires me to have an empty stomach in the morning so it can properly absorb. (Thyroid medicine).

Also, I am currently going by MFP's settings for carbohydrates, fats and protein, but I always go way over the protein, but still follow the other's. I average aroung 100g of protein a day. Am I suppose to change the settings if I'm opting for more protein daily, and how do I know what to change it to?
