I am thinking about taking a zumba class during my summer break, however, I am wondering how hard it is. I have a heart condition were my heart randomly stops and restarts again. I can do cardio but how hard is it really? I I walk most days but I can't run because of my asthma and my heart condition.

it can be as hard as you want it to be ..or as easy as you want it to be :)
It's a lot like dancing ,so just find a pace that is good for you. It's a fun workout and just do the steps as you feel suits you best :)

Let me be honest with you, I have a background in healthcare and I would DEFINITELY suggest talking with your physician before taking a zumba or high cardio/activity class, especially from what you mentioned regarding your heart. Zumba can really kick your heart rate into high gear and is very fast paced. Nothing compared to a brisk walk or even a run on a trail. I am very active and fit and I truly enjoy zumba because I leave dripping sweat...such a cleanse. It's a great workout, but get cleared first.

The last time I went to the doctor, she told me "Your fat, lose weight." She told me to not eat any carbs and do whatever it takes to lose weight.

Wow, some encouragement, huh? (Sarcasm)... well, I would get another opinion to ensure that your heart can handle zumba, and if so, than go for it. It's a great deal of fun! Enjoy!!!
