I've been on here for a few weeks, but I'm just now getting onto the message boards.
I'm a 23-year-old new mom to a 6-month-old boy. I'm 5'2½" and 149lbs. I started gaining weight in my first year of college. I have loosely tried dieting before, but needless to say, not being fully committed was my downfall. Now I'm finally sticking with it and losing about a pound a week. I've lost 11lbs so far, and hoping to lose another 19lbs. Being a new mom, it's hard to find time to exercise, so my technique so far has just been eating less. I was eating about 2,000 calories a day when I didn't need that much. I just stopped eating when I wasn't hungry. I find that I'm able to maintain eating about 1,300 - 1,500 calories a day and am losing about a pound a week even without exercise. Yay! Finally losing weight!
