So I have this scale I've been using since i started, ive had it for about two years. Yesterday I bought a new one to see the difference and the old one says (this morning) I'm 145 and the new one says i'm 147... The new one also calulates body fat and water. My body fat is 33% and water is 40%.

Why is there like a 3 pound different?

We also have one that "measures" body fat and water....it is not accurate but the weight is, however, the only way we get our correct weight on this scale is to weigh bare foot (it has the thin metal pieces where your feet go.) With ours if you weigh with socks on the weight is never correct. Maybe that will help.

Possible your older one isn't calibrated as finely as the newer one. Just a thought. Certainly wouldn't worry about it, just get rid of one and choose to use one consistently!!!

out 10 different scales 9 of em will all probably say different weights, not a big deal as long as you continue to use the same one

When I changed to my new digital scale ( with fat % etc..) the difference was over 5 lbs more! But, when I went for my physical. the new scale was dead on with the doctor's. It sucked that I had to adjust my weight up, but I feel more confidant with this scale. I can get on and off a dozen times and it never changes. The old one fluctuated like mad. Just pick one and stick with it.

What kind of scale did you get? I'm thinking of getting a new one and am looking for suggestions.

Do you have a 10 lb dumbbell? Or something else that you know the weight of? If so, put it on the scale to check its accuracy. Then you can adjust accordingly.
