Weight loss slowed...this is what I think happened.

When I first started using MFP on 3/5/11 I was set to eat 1200 cals a day. I was exercising a few times a week and burning about 1300 a week for the first month. I dropped 12.2 lbs. Second month was pretty much the same....7.8 lb loss. This is my third month and I started eating back my exercise calories. I have lost 1lb in 2 weeks I was eating more but I was also exercising a lot more. I went from 1300 cals average burn from exercise a week to about 2000 cals a week average this month. I think I am going to try going back to what worked. I will try eating less calories and not working out as intense. We will see what happens. Has anyone else had any similar issues? I know everyone is different so we are all going to get different results. It is very discouraging to get on the scales and not see a change especially when you work your butt of that week. I just needed to reevaluate what I was doing and maybe get some input from others.

Or if you're using mfp's estimation of what you're burning you could be eating too much, or your body needs more time to reset it's metabolism. I have been eating ALL of my exercise calories!0

Have you been measuring? If you are working out that hard maybe you are putting on muscle and losing fat?0

A lot of your initial weight loss is water weight. Then, once you lose about 10% of your body weight, that is the point where the body will try to put the brakes on. Increase your intensity a bit on your workouts, and that should help.
Eating your exercise calories can be tricky. If you eat a bit more than you think, which is VERY easy to do even if you are measuring everything (but that's another thread entirely), and are not burning as much as you think, that will impact your loss as well. I stick to a range of calories instead, which accounts for eating some, but not all of my exercise calories.0 -
Start Measuring your body parts!! That scale could be your worst enemy sometimes, keep doing what your doing and it will start to move down again. Muscle weighs more than fat.0

Did MFP suggest 1200 or is that what you chose. It may be that it wasnt reall y enough, so now you are eating more your body is holding onto it.
Check out this site. It believes your body gets used to the set amounts and you stop losing and you should zig-zag calorie intake. I have done it since Weds and have lost 2lb. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm0
