The crazy things you do on sleeping meds....
So I've been browsing the msg boards a lot lately... because I'm ridiculously addicted to MFP like most of you reading this post. I've been seeing a lot of comments in reference to insomnia. I'm also an insomniac, which completely blows.
A lot of people do some crazy things after taking their meds. I definitely know I lose my mind after I take them. I also can't remember a damn thing either, which is always a fun, weird, scary feeling the next morning wondering if you actually went to bed after medicating.
I'll wake up the next morning and see things when I step out of my room. I'll pause for a moment and look around house and try to decipher the shenanigans scattered or hidden around the house.
"WTF WAS I UP TO LAST NIGHT? DAMMIT! AGAIN?!?! REALLY!?!?"
I'll find things in random places... or I must I have thought I had some mad engineering skills because I built some strange contraption that serves absolutely no purpose.
The worst part is the text messaging and phone calls. (and since I've been on MFP for about two weeks now, it's bleeding over to this site (LORD HELP ME!). The next morning I'll usually receive a text message from my friends telling me that they know what I was up to last night. Or I'll look through my phone the next morning to see if I tried using my awesome communication skills... I'll usually end up calling that person that day to try to explain myself. My friends are cool with it, they kind of expect it now. And aren't shy about telling me about my late night txt/calls.
Here's a snapshot of one of my out of body experiences. This is probably one of the less embarrassing things I've done. I figured my cat likes being on top of the kitched cupboards, so I put his bed and food bowl up there at some random hour of the night.. God only knows how I didn't break my neck climbing on top of the counters all drugged up with a food bowl and cat bed in my hands with my improved motor skills.
WHAT HAVE YA'LL DONE LATE AT NIGHT WHILE INTOXICATED OR MEDICATED? Please help me feel normal LOL
have a great weekend everyone!
*Disclaimer:
I know I shouldn't be joking about this because it can be a very serious health issue and there is a certain degree of risks associated with the meds.. But... I hate being serious all the time, don't get me wrong, I know insomnia shouldn't be taken lightly. And everyone needs to be careful when taking sleeping meds.

I've never had any experiences after taking sleeping meds, though I haven't had to take them very often.
I'm betting I'd be more of a text or call people person though. I'm sure I'd have a lot of explaining to do.0 -

I'm not letting my cat see this picture or I'll be made to do the same!
(as for the meds situation, i've heard some crazy stories about that! Stay safe!)0 -
the normal is the txt/phone calls. i also have TERRIBLE insomnia! one night tho, i decided i was going to rearrange my living room. apparently i thought it would be a good idea to pile everything on top of my dining room table! this is to include my computer desk, the chair, every picture frame i have in the house, and the candles. i woke up and thought someone had tried to break in! i also apparently decided to play basketball with my sons lil tikes bball hoop, filled with about 5 gallons of water, dunked it, and knocked over the hoop. woke up to 5 gallons of water in my carpet! i have done the normal too, cereal in the fridge, milk in the pantry, bread in the fridge lunchmeat in the pantry type thing. as well as one night, i had a bottle of grey goose next to my bottle of smart water... both same in size. and drank the whole bottle of goose, thinking it was water. talk about a blur the next morning! so yes, u are very normal! lol.0

I don't walk around in my sleep when I take them but I do have the strangest dreams. I remember them with almost complete clarity the next day which is odd. In one of them I was in a Wal-mart that someone had chosen to bomb. Hiding in the pharmacy with several other people who then started to get suspicious of one another because they felt the bomber was still in the building. If was very strange. Lots of histeria. In another dream I was being chased all night by zombies. I hate zombie that includes movies, games, etc... Partially rotted people who move kindda gimpy but look horrifying do not appeal to me. In my dream about half of whatever city I was running around was a zombie population. The funniest part was for some reason these zombie didn't like water. There were people carrying around water guns like they were the real deal and at some point I was even given one to tote. I was a skeptic of this even in my dream and kindda said f*** that. I see a zombie my *kitten* is running not shootin it with a water gun. LOL0

Never taken sleeping pills (besides over the counter ones) but when I am drunk I completely believe that every guy that I have EVER dated would be thrilled to hear from my drunk *kitten* at 2am. It's always just great to have to scroll through my phone & text messages the next day to see who I called/texted :-( I tend to be a drunk facebooker too, so I always have to check and see what I posted and more often than not apologize to people, but most of them have come to expect things like this when they know I'm drinking. My phone and laptop should have a built in breathalyser so that I can't use them while drunk ;-)0

My mom takes sleeping meds & I've talked to her before when she's up and on em and she's a complete drunken mess hahaha. My dad says he'll wake up in the morning and she'll have a little pile of nuts in the bed with them and stuff like that. So I completely know you're not making this stuff up! Hahaha.0

That's hilarious! Yeah I've been put on Ambien for my insomnia. If I don't just close my eyes right away, I guess I get completely mind f*cked and act wasted. Tripping into things, stubling over myself etc.0
