does anyone rune a mile???

i started running a mile.

everytime i run it i also come in at EXACTLY 13 minutes 49 seconds..

how much time should get cut off each time i do it??

is that a REALLY bad time for a mile??

5'3... 24 female.. 130 lbs.. smoker.

    Do you run on the treadmill or outside? I think 13 minutes is just fine for starting out. Don't try to beat your time, just try to go farther than a mile next time...I think going a little farther at a slower pace is good...
    quit smoking and you will be able to endure more! :)

    I don't know...I know that I do a mile and a half in about 13:30 my mile ranges from 8-9:44 but i am not a smoke and I have been dong some extensive running since March. You have to realize everyone is different. Just get your starting base (which you have already) and like above try to run alittle farther and once you can do that you should do jogging with sprints included.

    I started at about 15 mins/mile but wasn't running the whole thing.

    I'm jogging about 11 minute miles now, but I don't "practice" nearly as much as I should...
