30 Day Shred and Weight Training Question

My husband surprised me by giving me the 30 Day Shred DVD. (I've never been into working out to DVDs, but have been curious about this one, as pretty much everyone who sticks to it seems to have gotten nice results.) Now I have two questions, both having to do with my understanding that because muscles need time to repair, you shouldn't work the same muscles two days in a row.

1. Does the fact that the weights I'll use for the Shred are light (probably either 3 or 5 lbs) make it okay to do it every day? and

2. Is it okay to do the Shred in conjunction with my regular weight training routine, as long as my body feels okay?

Thanks for any input you have to offer!

Because you're body needs time to repair AND you're doing it along with your regular weight-training routine, I would only do it every other day so you don't over work yourself. I'm doing 30 Day Shred as well, but I only do it 3 times a week (MWF). I just started this week and I've been sore after each one of my workouts because I try to go deeper into the moves. with every day I do it. I would suggest just picking a couple of days a week--do a FULL weight training day (30 Day Shred plus what else you already do) and then rest the next day.
