Stuck on a plateau

I have been stuck at the same weight for about a week and thats not a big deal really. I am gaining muscle from weight training but my gut doesn't get smaller like I want. I exercise every day and sometimes twice a day. I eat just under the recommended calories for me. I drink only water and lean sobe's and occasionally propel fitness water but its all low or no calories. Any reason as to why this happens?

It's great that you while gaining muscle mass, you are not gaining weight. That is usually the case. Give it more time and you should begin to see the pounds dropping again. Good luck and thanks for your service to our country!0

I have been doing alot of sit ups as well and I can feel alot of muscle under the layer or fat on my stomach. Would the muscle gain stop the inches from dropping like they have been?
I have lost about 40 lbs since the beginning of July and about 4 inches of my waist.
Could barely do 10 situps when I started and I am doing anywhere from 50-100 depending on how I am feeling.0 -
I was on a plateau for almost three weeks after doing pretty good for at least 2 months. I know I was doing everything right, but still I wouldn't getting any real weight loss. Then finally about a week and a half ago it started coming off again. I did start making sure I was under the calories suggested (just a little) though. I had a concern that they had me eating to many calories, and so I just make sure I stay closer to what I think I should be at for me and now I am easily loosing the 2 to 3 pounds a week (with good running). (And I don't eat the calories I burn off extra, at least not all of them ) But stick to what you feel best at. I knew I was getting too many calories, but that was my body. I have a lot of health issues that have change my motabolism and I am really a smaller person in size.
I have also started substituting some of my meals with less calorie snacks. I usually don't sit and eat a regular meal unless special occation. One of my greates snacks I am happy to have discovered is while I am at work, everyone snacks on chips and cookies and bad stuff, but I have one cup measured into a baggy of Fiber One cerial. Half a cup is only 60 calories, and I usually only get to eat about half a cup, but I keep a cups worth incase I want it. They are not so easy to eat, so I just grab a small amount at a time and munch on it. Great for the munchies. Just an idea if you wanted it. I also enjoy fiber one bars. They have a little more calories though, 150 in a bar, but in a pinch better than most snacks out there and much more satisfying. (I could do a commercial for them  )
I also like Access bars before work outs and in need of an energy boost. They only have 120 calories but they have to be ordered so unless you want me to get you on that.
Anyway, just hold out on the plateau, I found it coming off quicker once I managed to hang on for the duration!

That is some good insight....I run every single day. I actually think I am starting to enjoy it and not consider it so much of a chore. I think I need to figure out some better food and get a bit of all the good stuff.0

pro-I knew a guy who lost 3 sizes but never lost 1 pound. It was amazing, he totally morphed before my eyes.

It has taken me forever to get my gut smaller and what I have found in my measuring is that the weight is coming off EVERYWHERE, not just where I want it to (damn the luck). So visible, or, maybe a better word, noticeable changes are gradual and require patience. Keep after it. As long as you are being realistic about your caloric intake, you WILL get there!0

Ditto --
My stomach seems to be the last place the weight wants to come off of but it does -- just slower than the rest. Stay with it -- your goals are within your grasp!!0
