Looking for a cabbage soup recipe, not the cabbage soup diet. Something yummy with or without meat maybe in the crock pot? Thanks! Never really cooked with cabbage before but I like it!

You can add cabbage to a lot of different soups, adding whatever veggies you like. I always include onions, garlic and if you add any form of tomatoes just a pinch of sugar maybe 1/2 tsp. to the whole pot (also in spaghetti sauce) cuts the acidity taste of the tomatoes.
I love cabbage just "fried" with onion, carrots a little garlic, a sprinkle of poppy seeds and you could also add zucchini and fresh tomatoes to this.

This is the recipe I use all the time! :)

Generic - Cabbage, Raw Green Shredded, 4 cup
Celery - Raw, 1.5 cup chopped
Onions - Raw, 2 cup, chopped
Carrots - Raw, 2 cup, chopped
    Spinach - Raw, 2 cup
Fresh - Juice, Tomato, 48 oz
I use the 48oz can to add water to the mix
Then add beef bouillon and browning sauce.
Seasonings I choose are: minced garlic, onion powder, seasoning salt, garlic powder, a cinnamon sugar mixture and just a tiny bit of cayenne.

2 leeks, split, cleaned and sliced
    1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 pound of smoked chopped bacon
    1 cup of chopped onion
    1/2 cup of chopped celery
    1/2 cup of chopped carrots
    3 cloves of garlic, minced
8 cups of chicken stock or broth
2 red potatoes, washed, unpeeled, and diced
1/2 head of green cabbage, sliced thin
    Couple pinches of salt
4 turns of the pepper grinder
    2 bay leaves

    1 teaspoon of dried thyme

Clean the leeks and set them aside to dry. Slice into 1/2 inch thick pieces.

In the bottom of a heavy stockpot, heat the olive oil over medium high heat.Chop bacon about 1/4 inch thick. Cook until meat is lightly browned. Add the onion, celery and carrots and cook until softened. Add the leeks and garlic and cook until the leeks are soft.

Add the chicken stock and turn burner up to high. Add the potatoes, cabbage, salt, pepper and bay leaf; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer on low for at least 30 minutes. stir in the thyme; taste and adjust seasonings. Serve.

    This is gorgeous .

    Veggie Soup

    Cabbage
    Carrots
    Potatos
    Tomatos
    Lima Beans
    Corn
    Green Beans
    Garlic
    Onion
    Stew Meat

I am not sure about the the measurements. I have always been the type of person who just eyes everything.
