I've just recently started using it to track my running but I have no friends and was wondering if anybody else uses it or thinks it helps?

Yeah it helps a lot because it lets you know exactly how far youve gone, what your MPH is and your timing. I love that App for my Droid!

I've been using MapMyRun.com, but just signed up on Runkeeper last night.

I don't connect with a smart phone or anything. I just want to map out courses to see how far I'm running or going to run. And honestly, I think I might stick with Map My Run because there's just a wee bit more mapping options. Rather than just plotting the course, you can set it to loop, or go out and back,or lollipop (go around an area, then back the same way you came).

I love how both will show the incline on the course. I haven't logged anything on Runkeeper, but the calories burned on mapmyrun seem pretty low to me.

Yeah, recorded 139km of running, rowing, cycling and swimming since March 13th this year and 11,613 calories burned!!!

Haven't signed up for the Elite side of things as of yet, thinking about trying the Nike + website too...

I use runkeeper through my iPhone. Its definitely really nice to have that so if I want to see where I am at I can. You can set different workouts up so that it makes a little prompt when you need to switch to the next part (ie:I love using it for my intervals and tempo runs) Its also nice because you can still have music on while running or any other programs (sometimes if I am not in the mood for music I will throw a show on through my Hulu app and just listen to it- mostly do this for my longer low key runs... just to have something to zone out on its like listening to a book on cd.) So I like that I can run both apps at the same time with out interfering with either.

Moral of my post- if you are going to be using it with a smart phone its definitely great! haha

Been using Runkeeper since I started this adventure of being healthy and I love it. 324 km of mostly walking (just started using it for cycling and swimming as well) done. Since I connected it with my facebook account more and more of my friends have started using it as well. It's nice to see that my phone can actually make me healthier :)

I use it to track my distance / time / pace to see if my walking / jogging times are improving. I haven't gotten into the community though. I just use it for myself to keep track of my progress.

I've been using Runkeeper for a couple of months now, and I really like it. I especially like the "coaching" function. When I was doing C25K, I set it to prompt me when to change from running to walking, etc. Now that I'm running (slightly) longer distances, I love that I can use it to map out a route beforehand so I'm sure to go my intended distance.

I use Sport Tracker as its a little better with indoor training. I also have the bluetooth part heart rate strap, well worth the investment.

I don't use any of those tracking apps because it takes up massive battery consumption.

I just know where I run/bike and I come home and use mapmyride.com for tracking.

I just tried runkeeper for the first time today. I think it's really cool, especially the coaching function and the interval setting feature! I am humglum there as well. :o)
