Couch to 5k (3 mi) challenge 8 weeks ... week 1

I have always wanted to enter 5k running events ... My Goal is to enter one in July ... anyone want to join the challenge???
I am totally new at this ... so starting baby steps program from the couch to 5K in 2 months ... It would be fun to post our work outs each week as well as weight lose etc ... post how many lbs you have lost for the week on Sundays and how your week went as positive afirmation... No score keeping .. I will post our work out schedule for each week for those interested ... You can post duing the week as well .. we can support and cheer each other on ...

Also be cool to find an event to enter in July in your area ... many of these let you walk or run ... when you enter one post it ... then we can post picture when you do it .. ..

Week 1 .... 3 times a week... I am doing mine Monday, Wednesday and Friday on a treadmill ... my starting weight 156

Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes ..

  • I am about to start week 7 of Couch 2 10k. It really works! Some days you feel like there is no way you will complete the workout... but hang in there and you will see some fast results. I am running my first 5k next weekend!! go for it!!

    I want to join!! I was looking for this kind of group. I'm starting tomorrow, also running on the treadmill Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I've tried in the past but wasn't really successful.. I think i'm gonna try to start at week 5, it might take me a while to push my limits and be able to complete it and do week 6.

    when ever I have pushed myself too much with the best intentions I have failed .. so I am starting the program from day one .. best of luck .. look forward to hearing how you are doing ..
