Fat Free Chocolate Cake

1 box Chocolate or Devils food cake mix
1/2 cup fat free plain or vanilla yogurt
1 can pumpkin (15oz)

Mix all three ingredients together until smooth
Pour mix into greased 9x13 pan
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

** don't use smaller than 9x13 or middle stays mushy
** don't be tempted to add any more yogurt or water - mixture will seem a little thicker than usual. that's okay!
** after pouring into 9x13 pan - you MUST distribute and smooth the mixture until even in pan and smooth on top - it doesn't "settle" like normal cake mixes do.

your family/kids/friends will never know!! It tastes like a moist brownie - doesn't even need any topping!

enjoy!!

Well, this sounds interesting. I'll have to try to make this while the family is gone so that they don't know what is in it! I'm afraid they wouldn't even try it if they knew! But I'm gonna sneak it in on them later this week and see if this goes over! Thanks for sharing!

    This is soooo good!

I make mine into muffins! YUMMY!
If you don't have yogurt you can omit it and still get amazing results.
Also, try other cake mixes ( I LOVE the chocolate fudge and spice cake)

oh spice cake!!! That is my favorite!! I hadn't thought about that one!! thanks CB!!!! :drinker:

also, I tried to 'dress' it up a bit for a party - I sprinkled confectioners sugar on the top. But it is so moist that it just absorbed into the cake. any ideas for low cal toppings? not that it needs it!

oh, Fit2betied - My son is THE finickiest eater and he loves it - so I know it can work for you too!!

sounds delicious! Is the pumpkin flavor strong in the cake?

Yeah, I wonder what the calories are though...

Oh my. I'll have to figure up the calories of that, but it sounds scrumptious. It will also be somewhat nutritious, because of the yogurt and the pumpkin! ;o)
