Starvation mode?

Okay, so, I am exercising by walking to my classes from my home. It's a 20 minute walk, with about a 20 pound backpack (all my classes are right after each other, so I bring all my books with me). By doing this, I burn around 100 calories. Well, I also have an Symphonic Orchestra class, where I play my cello for 90-100 minutes. This burns about 250 calories. But now, I had 230 left over, then add in 350 from exercise, and I STILL HAVE 580 CALORIES LEFT.
But I'm not hungry. I don't want to eat when I'm not hungry, because it'll keep my stomach stretching out, and I want my stomach to shrink so it's easier to keep the weight off.
But I'm worried. Can I go into starvation mode by doing this?

I have a question with this as well... in my case I eat 2000 calories a day, so it seems that I am getting the nutrition that I need and my body shouldn't be going into starvation mode... I burn 1000 calories in exercise a day, so although my goal calories are 1200 I have 200 extra calories... it seems like this wouldn't make me go into starvation mode I am still eating tons of healthy food... :indifferent:0

Ahhhh - THE QUESTION!
There is quite a bit of discussion about this one, not only here, but all over the internet. Read through some of the past discussions here on myfitnesspal. I know we talk about this like once a week, but they get spread around on different subjects - good luck!

Here is one of the links from one of our threads here on mfp - It's an old one, but good info:

And here is a link to the government health website with more information than you will probably want!
