High Carb Diets, Diabetes, and drugs!!

I came across this page on the web today and thought I would share it. It is a pretty interesting view and thought that many could benefit from reading it.
It basically is a article written by someone who wrote about the harmful affects of high carb diets being pushed to diabetic patients and why certified diabetic instructors don't suggest the low carb paleo diet that would help control blood sugar.
The diabetic instructors responses are in the gray boxes.

I am NOT at all a diabetes expert, nor do I have an opinion on the Paleo diet for diabetics, but I do have two questions/comments.
Many health care professionals subscribe to and offer health advice based on studies published in health journals (New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, etc.). The studies reported in these journals must pass the scrutiny of a peer review and generally, the funding of the studies is transparent. If the Paleo Diet has not been studied and published in a respected health journal, a health care professional might be acting irresponsibly by prescribing an unstudied diet plan. Until the full, long-term effects of such a diet are known, a health care professional may not feel comfortable recommending the Paleo diet.
My second comment is that not all carbohydrates act the same. 25g of carbohydrates from Pepsi do not affect insulin release in the same way as 25g of carbohydrates from steel, cut oats. A blood sugar test before and after consuming both foods will show how different the effects of two different forms of carbohydrates are. I admit, I don't understand why cutting out complex carbohydrates from grains is necessary.
That's all I've got. I'd love answers.0 -
I was one of those diabetics who got a high carb diet pedaled to. I didn't know any better. I figure they went to school, had degrees, knew what they were doing. My weight ballooned. I ended up on insulin, and high amounts of glucophage.
Thanks to low carb diet, and taking matters into my own hands, I've gotten off of both insulin and glucophage.0
