My husband and I started Insanity 4 weeks ago, but are only doing it 4 days a week. I still either do elliptical or walk 5 days a week on top of that. We just follow the order on the calendar and really have been able to tell a difference. Our bodies are becoming more toned. We just cant seem to make ourselves do the workout Fri, Sat, or Sun! I have great will power Mon-Thurs, but come Friday night, Im ready for a beer and my food choices are not near as good. I have lost 20 pounds sice Jan and feel like if I could just do better on the weekends I would be in much better shape, but its like I "go on vacation" every 5 days! Has anyone had luck with doing Insanity 4 days? Each week I tell myself we will do better, but never happens!

You're doing good, don't get discouraged. Try this, accept that you have been doing it 4 days a week, no big deal. Follow the program on a 4day a week schedule. When you're done, take a break for about a month. The reason is, the routine causes a lot of stress on the body, emotionally and physically. If you do it longer it can lead to mental issues, such as depression, frustration, etc, because you won't be able to keep up.

Elite athletes, do cycles of intense training with moderate, and low intensity training. For example, high intensity for 2 weeks, low intensity for for a month, high intensity for 3 weeks, medium intensity for 2 weeks, low intensity for a month. This is done to not burn out and stay strong.

When you do low/moderate intensity, the goal is to "maintain" your fitness you gained with high intensity levels.

So stick with 4 insanity workouts untill the program is done, continue a maintenance program, for about a month if not longer. then do another cycle of insanity, but shoot for 5 days a week. You said you're getting reseults, so who cares how many times a week you do it if you get results, that's what it's all about isn't it?

I started Insanity recently. Today is day 7 which is the day I'm suppose to rest. So far, I'm feeling pretty good about this. I'm not able to keep up with everybody else in the video but I am sweating a great amount after a workout. I did the plyometric cardio circuit workout twice yesterday. Today, I feel completely drained. However, it's good timing since I'm suppose to be resting. Looking forward to another day of Insanity tomorrow.

I also do 4 times a week and Im seeing results. However, the most important thing is the food you eat. I eat whatever my mum cooks me but I eat only a little. I never ever eat after 6. Ive made this my lifestyle meaning that im not on a diet im just living healthily. I think that Ill probably be in my ideal weight by next year summer. INSALLAH!
