I don't log work as exercise, but my activity level in my settings is set on active and that factors in those calories burned at work.

No. I increased my activity level from sedentary from when I worked as a teller at a bank to lightly active as a server. As someone who works out 5-6x/week, I eat more calories than MFP says I should because it's the only way I lose weight. Before, on sedentary & working out 5-6x/week, I was eating 1400 base plus exercise calories. Now I eat 1600 base plus exercise calories, but I eat 1400 base on days I don't work.

Since I only do waitressing the odd day or two, I log it as an hour's slow walking for every 2 hours work. If its been a busy shift I'd do an hour's moderate walking per hour I was busy. I am set to sedentry lifestyle as some days my basic activity is only walking around the house.

I work on the basis i'd rather under-count than over. I'm never in danger of eating less than 1200 net calories either way

I have no idea if that is right! I did a 4 hour shift on saturday and tried to log it as 2 hours slow walking and 1 hour standing (fishing! that was the only option for standing) and the hour's "standing fishing" apparently burnt a whopping 400 cals, so I am now pretty confused, as I'm sure that's not right!

Aside from your activity settings, Have you given any thot to wearing a heart moniter (Polar) while you work?

Maybe it thinks you caught and reeled in a few heavy fish. Haha!

I do not I just used it as part of my active level. Obviously days I am off I probably burn less than days I work but I have accounted for it fairly in my opinion.

How would one incorporate a heart monitor into working out activity level for waitressing then? I am kickign myself because I saw one which was fully working with chest strap in a charity shop recently, for a fiver, but didn't get it as thought It'd collect dust!
