One is good, try two if not do modified. Not everyone can do jumping jacks, they can be hard on the knees. The key is don't give up, find ways to modify or substitute. But keep moving!

i can't do them either, or rather I should say, i can but my knees hurt real bad, so i flap my arms up and down like a jumping jack while kicking my legs up, one at a time, vigorously....it looks totally ridiculous, something akin to an angry bird, but it works and after a few moments of that i'm huffing and puffing...

I have the same problem! I am sure it's due to giving birth a couple times. If I am taking a class, I always make sure I go to the little girls room, minutes before the class.

Seriously if it's the first one, then you are NOT alone. Myself included.. If it is the first then it is stress incontinence, from weak pelvic floor muscles, mostly happens from having kids, can sometimes happen from being overweight or from some sort of physical injury. There are many women who will just wear a pad when they exercise, and that'll be enough, others, use a tampon, or ben wa balls to put pressure on the bladder muscles. There's a lot of info on the message boards, I'm sure you'll find people like you.

I tried to do them for 5 minutes yesterday. Only made it to 100 (about 2 min) before my ankles started killing me. Sorry, I'm no help. How about squat thrusts? Or, um... I'm trying to think of other exercises we did in PE class...

I can do them it's like after the first one i feel like i have to go potty. Even if I go right before I start. Yes it's because of having kids. UGHHHHH. I dont know how to strength them I know Kegels but I'm never sure if I'm doing them right.

I posted a link above that will help you out. I can't do ONE, or sneeze, or cough or run around with my kids without having to 'go'.

Sorry for TMI, but try using a super absorbency tampon (inserted properly) to put pressure on your bladder muscles next time you exercise and see if it helps. You can do kegels till you're blue in the face and it probably won't help.. it is a VERY common problem and you are not alone. I didin't know about the tampon thing till about a week ago, till then I had been struggling to hold it, even though I go before every work out, and today I was able to do 5 minutes jogging without even the urge or need to hold it.

Jumping jacks in the pool are gentler on the knees and bladder....and great cardio!!

Just keep trying! I had a hard time as well. First of all, I got a good bra! Then, I had a goal to do one a day with proper form. From there, I would do a few during different times of the day. Now, I have perfect form and have progressed to squat jacks where you touch your toes instead of your sides. Lastly, you burn alot of calories doing jumping jacks. Sometimes, I do them for 10 minutes and am amazed at how many calories I burn.

Go for it! You can do it!

I can't jump or jack! LOL! It kills my knee. I can feel my body trying to do it, but as soon as I jump the pain in my knee is unbearable. Has anyone done jumping jacks in a pool before?
