Hey. Hi.
Im new to the forums here, but i downloaded MFP for my EVO about 75days ago. So my progress meter says im down 27lbs.
Here's the story:
Im an EMT (RI EMT-C)....(last state that utilizes the Cardiac license...) I was in a bad relationship and only now do i realize i was eating my depression. I dont feel bad telling you guys here cuz we're all in this weight loss battle together. BUT, i stepped on a scale last year in a Dialysis facility (full uniform, nextel, keys, boots... whatever excuse) and it read 406lbs. I freaked. I lost it. I had to leave (thank God we were only dropping off). My partner finished the transfer. He's real helpful in all this too.
That was mid november 2010. I moved home (Hi Mom and Dad, im 28, can i have my old room back?) on Dec 1 2010. But it was mutual btwn me and my ex. We knew it was over. SINCE THEN, as of today (May 15) im down to 342. Thats about -64 since this decision was made (with a LOT more to go). I have friends at work who have lost 130lbs, 100lbs, 60lbs.. and i told them all It's MY turn.
Then i read BenDoesLife.tumblr.com. I found the link to his blog on MFP forums here. Go figure..... And i thought about it. I decided to blog about what IM doing. Mostly for accountability. Also to keep a record if i succeed....when i succeed..... But i know a few people's weight loss blogs that have given HUGE inspiration to people. So why not write about it... and keep walking and using MFP. If 1 person gets truly inspired, its all worth it... HELL, if i succeed, its worth it. lol.
So since ive read that a lot of you on here use this as a support group (accountability is big in this challenge...as is honesty...)...i figured I'd say Hi here. Since im clogging up the Blog pool, i wont post the link here......yet. Ok, maybe soon i will if anyone wants to follow.
Enough typing. Hello MFP people. Stay strong. (and "do life")...

Hey, I totally get you on gaining because of a bad relationship. I was in one for two years... First I lost 20 lbs, then gained 25... Then he let me know he didn't like my body, so I tried to lose weight for him and ended up GAINING 10 more lbs! It was just a vicious cycle! But I finally told him "no more" and now I'm 7 lbs. down and still swinging! Anything is possible if you do what's right for you
It's a long journey but worth it!!
