Not new, but a believer!

Hello MFP friends! I have been apprehensive about placing any sort of post, not because I'm shy, but because I have been skeptical of whether or not I could be committed enough to reach my goals. Let me tell you that not only have I surpassed my goals, but I have the confidence to tell you about it. MFP has been a major factor in reaching those goals, but you have to realize that it is only a tool to assist you toward your goals. If your goal is to control your weight, I believe MFP is the best tool available to assist you towards reaching that goal.
But, there is a catch! The catch is, you must be 100% honest with your entries and with yourself. Most people underestimate caloric intake and overestimate exercise. I have monitored both for several weeks, and I must say...that being 100% honest, MFP has been "dead on" as far as my weight loss. I have lost a total of 30 lbs. in 12 short weeks, but only by being honest and working my butt off. It sucks how fast the weight goes on and how hard it is to lose. I have always been blessed with being able to eat whatever I want and not gaining weight, but eventually it caught up with me. Finally, I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I decided to become 100% committed to being a healthier "me".
I see posts about people having challenges with late night "binges" or eating out too much or....just plain making excuses. It's mostly a bunch of b.s. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired then make the decision. Just Do It...Commit to a healthy diet and exercise program and Don't Quit!!!! The first 2 weeks really sucked for me, but once I adjusted, now I have to force myself to eat enough. And I don't claim to be an expert on diet and nutrition, but MFP has definitely contributed in tracking my daily Calorie, Carb, Fat and Protein intake. Do yourself a favor and be honest and be accountable to something or someone.
I am so confident that MFP works, I will accept friend requests from anyone willing to commit to a healthy lifestyle change. With that being said, I can only share what has worked for me. One thing is for sure, I will offer the motivation and support for those willing to make a change in thier lives, once and for all.
Until we meet again, my friends,
Eric

Congratulations on reaching your goals and I can only say "Amen Brother" - if you stick to this - and stop making excuses you will reach your goals...... I am always amazed at some of the excuses people come up with - do they really believe their own BS..... how can you lie to yourself - and believe those lies I wonder...0
