I recently purchased Tracy Anderson's mat workout from 2008 after catching her informercial for her new program (which I'm too cheap to buy so I thought I'd try something older from her to see if I want to try ebaying for a cheaper copy of the new stuff!) and I've only done it once but I freakin loved it! It did as she describes- works different muscles than you're used to feeling, "accessory" muscles" as she calls them. Definitely different moves than I'm accustomed to aslo. Her goal is to slim and tone without bulk. I did have a hard time keeping up simply because of her lack of calling out when she's going from move to move- I'd take me eyes away from the screen a bit only to look back and find out I was lost ;o) heh. Anyways though I was so sore by the end of the 55 or so minute workout! I was impressed at what AREAS were sore mostly, not the usual large muscles you're used to using; I was sore around my missection particularly under my love handles on my back and hips, the bottom of my butt/top of thighs back of legs area and the back of my arms. Impressive! It was definitely a total body workout. I don't think it's something I could do EVERY DAY beacuse it was a tad boring but I can definitely add it to my routine, maybe do it a couple of times a week. I definitely got sweaty and my heartrate was up.

Problem; I don't know how to log it. Has anyone done her dvds? I was thinking maybe half the time was low impact aerobics and the other half pilates? I don't have an HRM yet but am seriously thinking about getting one... just wondering if anyone else does her dvds and what you log it as. Otherwise I'll just have to use MFP to guestimate for now. THANKS!

Well, I got an HRM with a chest strap and after doing her mat dvd from 2008 (55 minutes, i'm 5'1" and currently 165lbs) it sais i burned 283 calories. Not bad for a day's workout! I love it more now :o) I was unsure before of how much I was burning so I logged it as low imact aerobics but now I know that was definitely an over estimation. If you're near my height and weight at all you could probably guestimate that you're burning around there also.
