Knee brace for hiking?

I did an hour and a half hike over rough, but level ground yesterday and by the end the back of my left knee was really sore. It feels like the tendon is tight and sore. Would a knee brace help? Anybody want to share their experiences and recommend brands/types?

If it's not something you regularly do you probably just overworked an under used muscle. Gentle stretching and resting it will help. If you find you do need a brace I use Cho-Pat Dual Strap Knee braces and they work awesome! I can do Taekwondo, run, walk, do P90X and soon I'll be biking with it. I wear them on both knees. I'm working on strengthening the knee area in the hopes that someday I won't need the brace but for now it's a God send.0
