Hey My Fine Peeps *smile* does any one else in here have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? I have it in both wrists, and have worn splints at night for about 3 years. Well, that hasn't cured the problem, and now, with being more active and wrapping my fingers around heavier weioghts, etc, it's getting a wee bit worse. My doc sugessted Physical Therapy, and really poo poo'd the surgery (?).
Has anyone done PT for CTS, and if so, can you reccomend any specific exercises for it? Any and all ideas are welcomed. The Sparkle Kilt thanx you muchly

I've got ulnar nerve mess in my left hand--had it for about 2 years now and have been putting off surgery. First because of grad school and now because of my weight loss and cycling. I'm afraid if I have the surgery, I won't be able to cycle for a bit
It's getting worse though and surgery is probably in the future for me. Never tried PT for it though but have heard that sometimes it helps. I've done a bit myself from what I saw online--you know, working it certain ways, wearing that stupid splint, trying to keep the arm straight, yada yada, yada.
Good luck!0 -
I have wrist pain that may be CTS. I find that grabbing the weights with thumb lined up with fingers causes less pain than if the thumb is the opposite of the fingers. I use free weights, so I don't know how this would work with machines. I've been wearing a splint at night for about a month - please don't tell me I have another 3 years of this!
I've done PT for another injury and while it was painful, it was a really good idea. There is a PT here, so hopefully he will answer.0 -
Hey, should have mentioned that the doc put me on Naproxen for my Ulnar Nerve and my bad shoulder about 1.5 years ago, and it has helped. I tried to come off it a couple months ago as it can cause constipation ( {ahem}--have that occasional issue) but after 3 days, I noticed a marked increase in numbness and something new--pain, real pain--in the hand. So back on the Naproxen.
Anyway, might want to try an anti-inflammatory and see if it helps you.
If it ain't one thing, it's another!0
