Polar HRM & Warranties

I am looking to buy a polar RS100 and I've read through some posts on this site about the Polar brand. However, I am wondering about the 2 year warranty that comes with the Polar HRMs. I was going to purchase one through amazon.com because they are about $30 cheaper, but I realize I would likely not be getting the warranty when I do it that way.

Has anyone with a polar had to use the warranty for any reason or do you think I would be ok buying it through amazon?

    I got mine (Polar FT7) via eBay and it came with a warranty. I guess as long as Amazon says it's brand new you might be ok? I guess everything is a risk nowadays though...

    I wouldn't and didn't buy mine through amazon or ebay as they are not authorized dealers. Should anything go wrong at least I know I am covered.

    You get the same warranty no matter where you buy it. The warranty information is inside the packaging. I got my Polar FT4 from Target.
