RHR - Low?!?

So i just got a new HRM today to get a more accurate idea of calorie burn during my work-outs. Part of the calculations required resting heart rate, so I took my pulse...58? I checked again...60. So I finished setting up the HRM and I put it on just to see what it would say my RHR is and depending on what I'm doing, I'm running between 58-64.

Does anyone else have such low resting heart rate? I mean SHEESH!

Mine is usually about 60 when I get it checked each time I go give blood. I've always been told this is good...

If you are a runner or endurance athlete you can train and build cardio to have a lower resting heart rate. I have had mine as low as 54. Lance Armstrong in his peak had his as low as 32-34 bpm (crazy) but never have fact checked that so just hear say. Seems low but who knows.

oh if your wondering reason heart rate drops is because heart is muscle and like any other it can build tone and become more efficient. A single beat pushing more blood though the body. Each chamber has more volume capacity because of being worked. 60-90/100 is what is considered "normal" heart rate barring any medical conditions.

I knew heart rate dropped with athletes and endurance runners. But I feel like my body composition and physical fitness does not put me in either of those categories. I've been cold a lot lately too, not sure if it's related, but it's been quite bothersome.

My resting heart rate is 39. The lower it is, the more blood your heart can supply with one pump. This is generally a good thing.
