Having Surgery - Need Help

I am having my left hand operated on for a carpal tunnel release. My doctor wants me out of work for 2 weeks - fat chance of that happening. I figure I will just pretend I am single handed and do nothing with my hand (NOT MY dominant hand) as it recovers. I am out of pool classes til stitches come out (2 weeks). I need help - what can I do? I need to exercise so I don't rebound. I have been losing 1 - 2 pounds a week and this is the first time I have any real motivation to do anything. Walking will work, but I can't do too much cause it takes so much time to burn so few calories. HELP anyone??

I might be in a similar boat for my knee in a few weeks. I am going to try to watch my food intake and increase my water. I am also going to do as much as I can with what I can!
GOOD LUCK!0 -
Bike? Can you borrow a stationary trainer from someone for a bit?0

recumbent bike would probably be safest. no stress on your hand or risk of falling on it, but still good workout. good luck. its only a few weeks, you need that hand!0

great suggestions so far, you can also do some strength training like lunges and squats, and some ab work.0
