They should have saved that money and put it towards something important.

However, it is amazing...I'm happy you had this experience!

It definitely was! I live close to the shuttle, so I've seen a million go up. But, to be there that close was unreal. The ground was shaking, everyone was screaming, this massive object is blazing fire and shooting into the sky in front of you. Definitely something I'll never forget.

I understand each person is allowed to have their own opinion.. But, can we not turn this into a rant about the space program. Where I live is being hit hard by losing the space program. I have many friends with families that not have no jobs, or will have no job come July. So I definitely don't agree with your comment in any way.

Agreed-- the space program is being decimated by a short-sighted president who doesn't think space exploration is necessary-- :grumble: but that's all I'll say politically--

    Shame it's the last one--

Awesome liftoff-- sorry your area is being hit--

I am jealous!!!! I went to see Endeavour launch on April 29th, and it was scrubbed. I couldn't make the second trip back. I teach with the wife of Colonel Johnson, and I have taught all 3 of his kids. I loved seeing your pictures--they were great!!! I wish your area the very best with all of the NASA cuts. We are definitely feeling the effects in Houston. As you know, it doesn't affect only NASA but the schools, businesses, etc. in the area. Hopefully we will be able to find leaders who support this wonderful program.

Thanks Schotas, I wish you guys the best too... It's sad, but I don't think anyone can make a difference now. i wish there could be a way to keep the space program going, and I've heard rumors. But, I think the truth is that obama has ruined a great thing, and there's no going back on it now :(
