Just wanted to see where the average falls. I know there will be a big discrepancy between men and women and among fitness levels, so if you don't mind, could you also post your gender (if not obvious by your profile pic and/or name) and what you consider your fitness level to be?

Here's mine:

Female
Average fitness? (been exercising diligently 6x week since Jan, nothing before then)
Biceps - 15lb
Shoulders and triceps - did 5lb last week, but might up it to 8lb this week
Back - bands 15lb last week, will do 20lb this week
Squats - 10lb (heaviest dumbbells I have)

I have a range of weights from 2 pounds to 15 pounds. I just kinda go with what I'm feeling that day. On average, I stick to 8/10/15, but if it's taking every ounce of discipline just to work out at all, I have no shame in dropping to a 3 or 5...lol

I use light 3 pound weights for the stuff where he says "you don't need a lot of weight here" and I use bands when I need a little more resistance.

i have weights from 5 lbs to 35 lbs. I also have bowflext selectech dumbells. i tend to do bicep curls around 25 to 30 and 35 on the heaviest. It is good to have a wide variety of weights to adjust when needed.

My weights go from 8 lbs - 20lbs. Mostly I use 15 lb and 20 lb. I have the bands, but rarely use them.

I'm a woman and I only have 2s-3s-and 5s. Those have done me fine thus far (I'm on week 6) and I'm super impressed with the muscle I've gained. I am going to pick up 8s and 10s asap. I need something larger for the bicep workouts now.

I have two sets of adjustable dumbbell bars and a big pile of plates, I think they top out at 53lbs before I need to buy bigger plates. One set is currently set to 35lbs and the other to 26lbs. I use the 35lb ones for all the biceps exercises, lawnmowers, calf raised and so on, the other for everything else.

Each week I increase the weight by 2 or more pounds for each dumbbell, I'm not noticing any major increase in effort to do so as my reps stay about the same before failure of form. I started on 22lbs and 15lbs.

I want some weighted gloves and ankle weights for the cardio exercises now, may be when I get paid.

    Male
Average fitness: (been exercising diligently 6x week since April, nothing before then)
    Biceps - 30lb (8-10 reps)
    Shoulders and triceps - 25lb (8-10 reps)
    Back - 80lb last week, (35lb each side + 10lb from the bar) - (8-10 reps)
    Squats - 15lb (12-15 reps)

I got the EPIC Power Set 100lb Space Saver Weights from Costco, which will give you 10-50lb, and I love it
