Hey yall my name is Jessie, I am 27. I have known about this site for a few months now but never really kept track of the food i'm putting in. I have always been chubby. when i graduated high school i was 170. since then I gained 30 lbs and never went below or above 200lbs. The job I was at sitting in a cubicle for 8 hrs a day, I gained 20lbs in the 7 months I was there. So now i'm up to 220lb my highest weight ever. After developing severe allergies last year, I had a month long allergy cold a month ago which made my life in the collections agency a living nightmare especially since they expect you to keep calling people even if you have no voice so I quit a month ago to get rid of the stressful job and find a better job. last week I started a position as a med tech at an assisted living facility, I used to work for developmentally disabled adults and give meds so the med tech job isnt far off. I rarely sit and am constantly moving. What got me motivated to start losing 85-90lbs was switching to dairy free products 3 weeks ago to basically see if dairy is the source of my allergies! since dairy free and this new job I am currently 208 so even losing 12lb got me motivated to start really exercising and finally losing the weight I want to lose

I am also deciding if I want to get a smaller pair of jeans to hang up on my wall to keep me motivated. Has this method helped you in losing weight. Just need to figure out what size to get i am currently a size 16, so i'm thinking getting a size 8 pair to start.

I buy clothes only one size smaller and it feels great to fit into them then when i reach that i buy something in the next size down... It def keeps me motivated and when u finally fit into said clothes it is the greatest feeling in the world!!!

I like only buying a size smaller as you can get into them a littler quiker therfore it keeps you motivated along the way :)

    good luck!

Can't say I've ever bought new "small" clothes to hang on the wall as a motivator, but I DO keep some old "skinny" clothes that I try on periodically just to see how I'm progressing. Best of luck in achieving your goals and welcome to MFP!
