Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this; I used to be hot all the time but now that I've reduced my calorie intake I'm FREEZING ALL THE TIME!!! Has anyone else noticed this?

I can't say that I'm cold ALL the time, but I am frequently. It was the worst in the beginning.0
-
Not due to calorie decrease but due to losing the weight I tend to be cold more often than I was.0
-
Less insulation. You'll get used to it.0

Yup same here.....I'm always cold now! Its weird...I don't know why either! I just thought because i became over weight that maybe I have poor circulation. I don't know!0
-
Oh yeah. My hands are ALWAYS cold. Seems as though I lose weight I get colder and colder. I used to be sooo hot ALL the time and now, I'm the one wearing a sweatshirt at work when it is 75* outside.0

Same problem here. I'm loosing all my padding0
-
ALWAYS! But I have hypothyroid issues...I am constantly freezing. I wear sweaters and blankets in the house and sleep with 4 down comforters and a sweater0

I was cold at first, now I'm itchy. I'd rather be cold!0
-
Yes, I notice it in my hands a lot. Why is that?0
-
I am itchy too!!! lol0
-
Yup, fat is a natural insulator. Just look at whales.0
-
I am still pretty warm but I do chill a lot easier and notice my hands are cold a lot or feet.0
-
I'm not.. cold.. but i did go from being extremely hot all the time to just.. being normal. I'm quite happy about it actually.0

Yeah I'm definitely suffering with you. However, I'm hoping it keeps me nice and chill during the hot summer months.
My boyfriend said its a normal side effect of calorie restriction. I think the body is trying to hold onto the calories that would normally be burned heating you up. It just means the calorie restriction is working0 -
I am also always colds....I lost most of my insulation. I'm wondering how I will feel when summer is here??.....maybe just right ; )0
-
You aren't alone on this one...same here But if it means I'm losing weight, I can buy a hoodie to stay warm LOL0
-
i get complaints my hands are freeeezinggg0

I am totally waaaaay colder all the time.... Isn't it strange...0

Im always cold, my hands and feet. I wear socks and slippers all the time. You would think I was 90 years old.0
-
I am itchy too!!! lol
Really!? I wonder why that is? I thought it was dry skin so I have been putting on lotion every time I feel an itch, but that's going to get expensive0 -
Yes, get colder much easier. At work I will put on a light coat when going into our manufacturing facility when I take breaks or have lunch with the guys. They laugh and call me old which isn't the case however while they are pealing cloths I'm putting cloths on to stay warm.0

I'm feeling it and haven't even lost any0

This past weekend I was freezing the whole time, even when it was warm out! I think I would rather be cold than hot though.0

Bein the proverbial fat guy, I have fans on me anywhere I go, but depending on what I wear now, I get cold. Which honestly, is an odd feeling. Like right now, I'd turn my fan off at work, but the noise it makes it what keeps me sane.
As someone else said, less insulation means you've got less to keep you warm. That's a good thing. I'd say a 50/50 NSV!0 -
I looked it up online and this is what the article said:
****Those on calorie restriction diets were found to have the lowest core temperatures, the journal Aging reports.
Lead researcher Dr Luigi Fontana said: ‘The people doing calorie restriction had a lower average core body temperature by about 0.2c, which sounds like a modest reduction but is statistically significant and similar to the reduction we have observed in long-lived, calorie-restricted mice.
‘What is interesting about that is endurance athletes, who are the same age and are equally lean, don’t have similar reductions in body temperature.
‘We know that people on calorie restriction diets feel colder than normal people because there is a lower metabolism and lower body temperature.***

Yep, me too. I was always a "hot body" needing fans going, wearing shorts and tank tops to bed, sweating all the time (gross!). Now I'm always in fleece pj pants, a hoodie, socks and/or slippers, and wrapped up in a blanket or quilt. I sleep with 3 fleece blankets while my husband is sweating with one. All of this and my hands and feet will still feel like ice. I get chilled really fast after working out as well and have to put a hoodie on. Kind of annoying, but better than sweating all the time, IMO.0

Thank you all for helping me feel less crazy!! My husband was insisting it was because I stopped drinking!!0
-
Yep. I used to radiate heat. Now I have to keep a spare hoodie at work and have to bundle up more and use heated gear on my motorcycle. Less fat = less insulation. It's a fair enough tradeoff I guess.0
