i've joined the site because i was dieting online with a well known site and did lose weight at first but seem to have hit a plateau which has lasted for around 2 months. I was surprised to see how easy counting calories on here is, however i never seem to eat enough calories and if i add food i go over my carbs, or porteins or fat etc. I can't eat some foods because i suffer with acid reflux and i'm a fussy eater to boot! I'm giving this a go as a last resort so here's hoping that this will lwork for me. It's my first week so don't know if i've lost any weight yet.

Ever try a calorie zig zag? Your metabolism/body has gotten used to the way you do things and you need to switch it up. Search the forums for zig zag calories for some good reccomendations. :)

There's nothing wrong with going over your protein limits, or even fat as long as it isn't trans fat or saturated fat

If you've been stuck at a weight plateau for 2 months, you are eating too much food to lose weight. Need to drop calories down a bit more.

I'm sure you can do it! I have the acid reflux problem, too.. ever since i got hormone injections several years ago for a growth problem. I can't eat tomatoes, greasy or spicy food.. but i've foudn something that works for me since i love spicy food. Whenever i eat spicy food, i eat a bit of bread, baguette or something on the side. It helps absorb the grease and spicyness and greatly reduces the acid reflux. Also steadily eating smaller portions , more often throughout the day has helped. My acids are now almost non existent.

    Perhaps worth a try..

Or you're not eating enough calories, the idea here at MFP is that you eat back your exercise calories (to keep your deficit at your chosen rate of loss, which gives you a calorie goal to lose the weight without doing any exercise)

    welcome
this site is amazing, if you stay within your calories and get in some exercise at least 5xs a week you should start losing , and it is ok to go over on protein. i only pay attention to sodium and the cals and have lost 68lbs in 9 months, good luck. keep us updated on how you are doing. you can do it

Without knowing anything about you (age, height, weight, gender, goals, lifestyle, etc.), no one should post such a ridiculous statement. Often times the exact opposite is true...you're not eating enough. More information is needed before advice can be given.

Ok, whatever. There is no such thing as starvation mode. If you are not losing weight for 2 months eating at a consistent intake, one of two things are happening.

    1. You're counting your intake wrong
    2. You're eating too many calories

It HAS to be one or the other. There is no debating.

however i never seem to eat enough calories
the OP themselves says they are already likely not getting enough calories, so reducing that further may end up doing more harm than good.
