If you can fit it in your calories and it doesn't put you over in everything, I say go for it as a treat! Sounds pretty good to me!

I think it is a little better, but I think the biggest calories and unhealthy things are in the gravy, especially sausage.

You could replace the pork sausage with turkey sausage...and try to keep the fat content down. If you can afford it calorie wise and you aren't eating it every day...I don't see anything wrong with it.

The gravy itself may be extremely fattening. Are you making your own gravy?

if you make it yourself and use low fat versions, the gravy is probably worse than the biscuits
    ex-

    •2 light breakfast sausage rounds
    •2 Tbsp. water
    •2 tsp. flour
    •1/4 to 1/2 cup 1% milk
    •salt and pepper, to taste
•1/4 cup biscuit mix (dry) Bisquick has low fat version
    •2 Tbsp. 1% milk

In bowl, mix biscuit mix and milk. Make into dough, and follow package directions for baking.

In small saute pan, place breakfast sausage rounds and water. Cook until warmed through, and break up into small pieces. Remove from pan to bowl.

In same pan, add milk and flour. Stir gently, add salt and pepper. Continue stirring until gravy thickens, and lumps are gone. Add sausage back to pan with gravy.

Remove biscuit from oven, split, and spoon gravy over top.
