HAHAHA I used to do that all the time. i LOVE peanut butter. Whats worse is that I would dunk by pb spoon in nutella. Yeah, I got food problems. haha. I have no clue how to curve pb cravings without eating it. I eat 2 tbsps of creamy trader joes PB daily (sometimes it doesn't make it to the bread) and then put it away.
I started doing the math, theres 190 calories in a serving (2 tbsps) 14 servings. I just forced myself to stop being pb addicted.0 -
I lovelovelovelove peanut butter. I like creamy, because I like eating it straight out of the jar. I eat it on toast in the mornings sometimes.
Most of the time, I take a tablespoon and eat a bit spoonful of the PB, and put it back. That way I get my PB fix, but I'm not eating too much of it.0 -
Oh I forgot a good way to avoid eating it by the jarful instead of the tbsp-full. When you are doing with it put it in the freezer! Haha its extremely difficult to eat frozen peanut butter no matter how bad you want it. Take it out in the morning get your servings and then put it back in the freezer until the next day.
Desperate times calls for desperate measures.0 -
I can't have it in the house, I go mad and finish a jar in a few days too.
I simply save it for very occasional use, but if you can't do that, try mixing it with things, like very low fat cream cheese or mayo, still getting the PB taste but less PB use over all?0 -

FREEZE IT!! haha then you wont be able to eat it0 -
Definately chunky! I like to buy almond butter or natural peanut butter though because neither of them have added sugar so they're not quite as addicting. Also, because they're more expensive, I'm to cheap to sit down with the jar (well, usually..)0

I cannot stand chunky. It has to be creamy for me.0

Chunky or creamy? I would have an easier time choosing between rich or thin.
Thanks for the tip about freezing PB. My worst food habit is mixing a little honey into my PB and eating it straight out of the cup. ......maybe I should just hide the honey.0 -
mix a tablespoon of it with uncooked porridge oats. That way you get the taste and you feel like you've eaten more of it than you actually have. (:0

Creamy.
I'm horribly addicted. There are 4 jars of peanut butter in my house right now. I eat organic creamy peanut butter - it's expensive and they were having a sale - don't judge me. I restrict myself to 1-2 servings a day. 1 serving in the morning on top of my granola bar and one at night after I work out. No more.
I used to go through a 35oz. jar in a little over a week....0 -
creamy all the way, i have peanutbutter in the house 3 jars of it and they have been there for months haha i just eat a pack of the austin pb crackers and that satisfys me0

Maybe try eating nuts instead? I like creamy!0

Hi my name is Melodie and I am a PB ADDICT!!! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't have a peanut butter banana sandwich. I once quit a job because they banned me from eating peanut butter even BEFORE I went to work. Ok.... that wasn't the only reason I quit, however it was a contributing factor!0

Definately creamy. I agree with some of the others I have forced myself to add it to something rather than eating it off the spoon. Ideas apples, celery, oatmeal, pears, carrots. This way you get filled up from the fiber and don't tend to eat as much peanut butter. Good luck, with kids I always have it around and it is a hard one for me too. I like the freezin0

I've always been a creamy PB kind of guy. I used to take half the jar and put it on a plate and cover it with syrup and mix it up and eat it with as much bread as it took to finish it. Been doing that since I was a kid. My local grocery has a Maple flavored PB and it tastes the same as my PB/syrup mix, but I stick to a tablespoon as a snack. Sometimes I eat it with a banana if I have extra calories. I just can't quit PB.0

I'm more of a crunchy PB guy - but lately I've been putting 1 or 2 tbsp of creamy in my morning oatmeal - that satisfies my pb craving and adds some good protein to my oatmeal. Give it a shot sometime.0

Check out PB2! I've heard sooo much about it and just ordered my first jar! Apparently, 2 Tbls only = 45 calories!!!! It's all the PB you want, for WAY less calories.0

Crunchy all the way,but I don't really eat it that much, now my husband can eat half a jar mixed with syrup every night! It makes me wanna puke. Yuck0

My weakness is when it is combined with chocolate. Chunky, creamy, honey, etc... Its all good. I am trying to be good and not buy Peanut Butter cups right now.0
-
Omg, crunchy! I used to put PB on saltine crackers and make little sandwiches. I still do if I need a snack and have lots of calories left over! Love peanut butter!0

Chunky!!!
I've been an addict ever since that one summer I spent a lot of time with my aunt when I was in middle school. She taught me about dunking a Hershey bar with Almonds inside the peanut butter jar. Oh. My. God. I had found heaven! That summer, we made chunky PB cookies with almonds, chocolate chips, toffee chips, PB and oatmeal, you name it, we tried it, and ate it.
Then, in high school, I discovered Nutella! My life was at the hands of these delicious, unhealthy spreads at that point lol. This past year during our first (and only) snow day which resulted in a 4 day weekend, I discovered that I had not only a jar of chunky PB, but a jar of Nutella! I spent those 4 days eating wheat toast with Nutella and PB mixed together in a nice swirl. It melted perfectly lol. When I went through an entire loaf of bread and a jar of Nutella and PB after 4 days, I realized I had a problem lol. I steer clear of those isles when grocery shopping. That's the only way!!!
When I'm craving peanuts, I dip into my dog's stash. She goes crazy for peanuts, so I'll buy her a jar for treats when she's being good, but of course I sneak in a few for myself0 -

"don't judge me." Haha, judgment should be illegal on this website.
Now, you all don't judge ME: I should not have even clicked on the link to this thread knowing it was about peanut butter. This is basically food porn...I'm Yvette and I'm a creamy peanut butter addict. I have eaten an entire small jar before...in one sitting.
But...I actually think I've beaten my addiction, I haven't had a craving in a while and for some reason reading this thread isn't generating one either. Yay!0 -

I like both creamy and chunky. Depends on the day.
I have Better Butter (it's peanut butter mixed with pumpkin and flavorings to keep the calories lower, it's organic). I have Better n' Peanut Butter (peanut butter mixed with tapioca to keep the calories low). I have Natural Chunky, Natural Creamy, Peter Pan Creamy and Jif Chunky. I also have Saratoga Peanut Butter Adirondack Jack (peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter with sunflower seeds and cranberries). The Saratoga is one of my favorites.
I get the worst cravings for peanut butter when I try to do Atkins type diets. If my carbs get too low, I crave peanut butter! The first time I did Atkins, I ate a whole jar in one day, along with a box of wheat thins...
I just try to keep my diet balanced and keep it in the house. Knowing it's available seems to help. I generally make sandwiches with the lower calorie stuff and when I have a real craving, I will measure a tablespoon of the real stuff and eat that.0
